Kingdom Scriptures

Matthew 7:12 Therefore all things whatever you would that men should do to you, do you even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Matthew 16:18-19 And I say also to you, That you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give to you the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Matthew 22:37-39 Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like to it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Luke 16:16 WEB The law and the prophets were until John. From that time the Good News of the Kingdom of God is preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.

Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said to him, One thing you lack: go your way, sell whatever you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

John 6:27 Labor not for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give to you: for him has God the Father sealed.
John 10:28 And I give to them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you: not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Who is Jesus ? Part 3

Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received, freely give.

We have been discussing on the benefits of the Gospel, as a 'package'. We can proceed in order to see much more deeply, the effects of becoming believers of Christ.
The terms which are popularly given to the elements of the above package are healing ministry, deliverance ministry and others. The acheivement of what had been done on the cross, gets us to receive the same 'package' as all have been provided with, and based upon situations and others, we can keep doing the same kind of activity.

What is healing ministry?
Jesus spend His days majorly among people, healing the sick and providing them comfort through His words. He spoke about the coming of the Kingdom of God to them. Jesus was able to give two kinds of healing to suffering people: Physical healing and spiritual healing.

What is physical healing?
Jesus went about in the worship places of His country, and He sought to establish the Kingdom of God through His ministry of healing. Jesus healed many people of their afflictions. There were several dieases in those days and they had tormented people to a considerable level.

Matthew 4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Jesus had healed people who were afflicted by 'all manner of sicknesses' and 'all manner of diseases'. Jesus had power over all the diseases which the people had at that time. He was a one-stop remedy for physical ailments.

Matthew 4:24 "...  and they brought to him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, ... and he healed them."

The word 'divers' means 'various kinds of'. People who had various diseaes were healed. Jesus had power over various kinds of diseases.

Matthew 9:35 "... and healing every sickness and every disease among the people."

As in the above verse, Jesus went about preaching in various places, and when they brought to him those who were afflicted by diseases, they were healed.

The disciples also went about teahing and healing people, just like Jesus.

Luke 9:6 And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.

The disciples of Jesus were close associates of Jesus, and had witnessed majority of His actions. They were witnessing how the Kingdom of God was provided for the people to whom Jesus preached.

Now there is something known as spiritual healing.

What is physical healing?
People who had diseases were given the necessary relief from their afflictions. There were people belonging to other categories also, along with those who suffered physically. Jesus preached about the Kingdom of God and it's attributes giving the benefits to the people. This is popularly known as the Beatitudes spoken by Jesus on the mount. People who are new to Jesus must go through this in Matthew 5:3-12 in order to get a complete picture of how God's Kingdom will be on earth. These scriptures actually speak of the benefits
of the Kingdom of God in an emotional/spiritual perspective.
